Let me introduce one of my works to be exhibited in my next solo exhibition.

“Quai Signac” Saint Tropez, Côte d'Azur (France) Oil-painting F10

Saint Tropez is a chic and fashionable town where cruise ships also dock.

Although it is a famous luxury resort, all tourists can feel a gentle and fresh breeze thanks to its climate, atmosphere, and the town's ambience.

At the beginning of the 20th century, when St.Tropez was still a simple fishing-port, Signac, Marquet, and other painters gathered there and painted many works.

Later, Brigitte Bardot and other movie stars stayed there, and this town became a world-class resort for celebrities.

Many years ago, I saw the pictures painted by the artists and a photo of the harbor view from the hilltop, and from then I’d been dreaming of visiting St.Tropez.

(The view of the harbor from the top of the hill is the motif of the DM.)

The wharf painted by the artists is now a glamorous place where cruise ships dock.

There seems to remain no trace of the charm and atmosphere of those days as in the paintings.

However, I thought it would be fun to imagine and paint the scenery of those days. I came up with the idea and started to paint this place.

Because “painting” is a way that allows us to freely express anything, whether it is a lost landscape, a scenery in my mind, or the appearance of the present.

(My French title “Quai Signac” is the name I created when I walked around.

The real name is Quai H.Buchard, a pier in front of the museum where many painters spread out their canvases and paint).
